Abstract
Selection of more accurate wave-velocity values reduces computational work for the determination of critical hydraulic transient effects. Data are presented for the wave velocity as function of the ratio of inside pipe diameter to wall thickness for common commercial hydraulic fluids and common pipe materials. These data close an existing gap in information on wave velocity in the field of fluid power.
