Abstract

A new approach to the analysis of convective heat transfer for a turbulent transpired boundary layer is proposed. This analysis utilizes the principle of surface renewal in modeling the actual unsteady turbulent transport process that occurs between the inrush and ejection phases of the burst phenomenon. Predictions are presented for the mean transport properties associated with uniform blowing and suction.
