Abstract

An image carrying fiber optic probe technique is developed and described for the determination of solids concentration profiles around the periphery of horizontal tubes immersed in air fluidized beds. The results are reported for tubes of three different diameters and it is found that the surface voidage values are significantly different than the bulk bed voidage values. (A)
