Abstract

In this article we show how a spreadsheet program can be used to find numerical solutions of parabolic partial differential equations using the Crank-Nicolson method. A complete 123 macro program is presented and used to solve a model problem. It serves as an example to enable engineers to write their own spreadsheet programs for solving problems.
