TURBULENT BURST PHENOMENON: INNER LAWS FOR u ⁺ AND T ⁺ .

Inner laws have been developed in this paper for u** plus and T** plus for fully turbulent flows of moderate Prandtl number fluids. The surface renewal model of wall turbulence together with the classical model of turbulence within the intermediate region provides the theoretical basis for this formulation. Because of their simple analytical form, these laws prove to be quite practical for developing analyses of turbulent transport process which account for the effects of the wall region. For example, a simple modern integral analysis has recently been developed for fully turbulent thermally developing boundary layer flow which employs these inner laws.
