N2 - The progressive failure model is implemented into the general finite element code ABAQUS for 3D modeling of rock breakage process. In order to facilitate the usage of such implementation, a software package TUNGEO3D is developed using C++, OpenGL, Fortran and Python script to integrate the pre-processing, the subroutines for the heterogeneous material model, Mohr-Coulomb and unified strength criteria, mechanical damage model and associated seismicity of the progressive failure model and procedures interacting with ABAQUS, and post-processing. Several examples are presented to verify such implementation and demonstrate the benefits of the implementation.
