The management of pure risks in housing construction projects

Abstract

This paper outlines the management of pure risk process which includes risk identification, analysis of risk treatment alternatives and risk administration. Risk identification includes several approaches. These are the financial statement, the flow chart the questionnaire and checklist approached. Risk treatment alternative include the analysis of risk control, risk avoidance, risk retention, and risk transfer through insurance and other means. This paper concludes that once pure risks are identified and analyzed they need to be administered either through the contractor himself or by an outside agency.
