Abstract
This research aims to investigate the ability of conversational apps powered by AI to cultivate proactive behaviors among college students regarding mental health support. It does so by looking at the social-cultural and self-evaluation correspondents. This study used a mixed research design where 327 students at a university in Kolkata, India, were involved in using a chatbot that automated personal counseling for mental health. The research aimed to measure the effect of a chatbot on a student’s low self-esteem score by assuming a random forest regression model. The AI-based chatbot is a good source that can be used for the benefit of students in academic environments to enhance mental health by making suggestions and providing remedies to address the issues. The research showed how AI-enhanced chatbots can be used in education to minimize mental stress and maintain self-esteem in a transformed institution. Strengthening students’ social support in the academic environment through a modern AI mental health technology model also detects the student's personal issues. It promotes the advantages of social for additional mental health services to be offered in schools.
