Abstract

This paper proposes a mathematical model for a predominantly air-condition load. The focus is on the impact of the temperature and humidity variations on the air-condition load model characteristics based on several years of field measurements. Important data has been collected for two large-scale power utility systems on a regular basis. The first system field data measured was taken from a hot and dry area while the second field data represents a hot and a humid area. The two dimensions and three-dimension analysis of the data have been conducted and mathematical relations have been extracted to represent the dependencies of the real power with both humidity and temperature for the two case studies. The investigations have shown the sensitivity of the load to temperature and humidity to be in good compliance with the expected natural load behavior.
