Abstract
Some of the basic system theoretical properties of a recently introduced general state-space representation for causal and anti-causal discrete time systems by the authors are explored. The time-varying case is newly introduced. Input-state mapping properties of the new representation are studied. A characterization of the allpassness in terms of the new representation is developed.
