Abstract
Three new heteroleptic silver(I) polymers (1–3) with tricyclohexyl phosphine and pyridine derivatives such as [Ag2(L1)(TCHP)2(NO3)2]n (1), [Ag2(L2)(TCHP)2(NO3)2]n (2) and [Ag2(L3)(TCHP)2(NO3)2]n (3) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H, 13C{1H} and 31P{1H} NMR spectroscopy. The structure of polymers 1 and 2 were solved by using single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Antimicrobial studies of the synthesized polymers (1–3) were done by evaluating their minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC). All polymers exhibited good potential against gram-negative strains such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram-positive strains such as Bacillus subtillis and Staphylococcus aureus, MIC values mutable 0.125–0.0312 mg/ml. All synthesized polymers were also tested against Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizopus oligosporus and trichophyton rubrum for their antifungal potential and MIC values ranges from 0.125−0.0625 mg/ml.
