Abstract

The reaction of ammonium gold(III) thiocyanate with imidazolidine-2-thione (Imt) and its N- and N,N'-disubstituted derivatives yields complexes of stoichiometry LAuI-SCN (where L = Imt and its derivatives). However, a six-membered heterocyclic ligand, 1,3-diazinane-2-thione (Diaz), and its N-substituted derivative yields complexes of the type L'2AuISCN (where L' = Diaz and its derivative). These complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
