Abstract
With growing interest in smart electric mobility and intelligent transportation systems, connected and autonomous electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly popular. This rise is driven by the widespread adoption of EVs and the push toward autonomous mobility. However, enabling these vehicles requires extensive data collection, exchange, and processing. Additionally, optimizing the energy efficiency of wireless communication modules is crucial to manage the large data volumes transmitted in real-time. This study proposes an energy-efficient vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication architecture using passive symbiotic radio (SR) communications to reduce the energy demands of wireless communication. The performance of SR V2V communications is explored in the terahertz band, which offers high-bandwidth transmission. Closed-form expressions for outage probability and ergodic rate are derived, with results validated through Monte Carlo simulations.
