Abstract

The field parameters used for predictions of hydrocarbon reservoir behavior are obtained through field and laboratory experiments. Some of these parameters have a distinct random nature. This random character influences the predictions that are made using the conservation equations. The aim of this paper is to analyze the random nature of the field parameters in the reservoirs. An example is given which investigates the random nature of one of the parameters, permeability or the effective permeability, obtained from the pressure draw-down tests.
