Abstract

For the alloy Cu86Mn14 the narrow displaced hysteresis loops measured at 4.2 K for different cooling-fields are shown to be interpretable by means of a spin-glass domain model recently applied to similar data for Ni-Mn. In this simple model, each domain is characterized macroscopically by a net magnetization (equal to the saturation thermoremanence), a unidirectional anisotropy, and an average antiferromagnetic coupling with neighbouring domains.
