Abstract

This paper proposes a sparse direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method for directive coprime arrays. The complex radiation patterns are extracted using an electromagnetic simulator and then incorporated in the DOA estimation. Three DOA algorithms are compared including Capon, MUSIC, and Lasso based on compressive sensing (CS). It is shown that when the DOA increases in the elevation plane, the performance degrades faster when using real antenna patterns.
