Abstract
The global energy and environmental scenarios are facing mounting challenges, in response to which the world is experiencing a sustainable energy transition. Renewable energy is at the heart of this energy transition. Solar thermal technologies are an important part of renewable system, which can be harnessed through diverse technologies for a wide range of applications. Solar thermal energy can be utilized through simple technologies like solar space heating and solar water heating and by employing more advanced and sophisticated technologies like concentrated solar power (CSP) and solar air conditioning. Solar water heating and CSP are the two most prominent solar thermal technologies experiencing a rapid growth across the world.
