Abstract
The synthesis of α-Bi2VO5.5 via a sol-gel method utilizing vanadium (V) 2-methoxyethoxide and a soluble bismuth acetate precursor is reported. Solutions may be cast as thin films for use in partial oxidation membrane reactors. The identity of the bismuth precursor and the synthetic conditions for film formation are discussed.
