Abstract
This paper proposed a state observer for the Cuk converter to estimate its unknown states for controlling different parameters of the Cuk converter. Moreover, a Lyapunov direct approach is used to establish the stability condition for the proposed observer. A small signal dynamical model of the DC-DC Cuk converter is considered for precise estimation of different states of the Cuk converter by using the state-space average model-based technique. The state observer has been evaluated in SMC based control structure for a Cuk converter. The designed observer can estimate all states of the Cuk converter without extra sensor requirements, which makes it reliable to overcome sensor noise problems. The Lyapunov direct scheme ensured the asymptomatic stability of observer states to actual states of the Cuk converter average model. The experimental results authenticate the performance of the proposed technique.
