Abstract

A facile route was devised for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (Au NP) of different average size on to the fibrous silica nanospheres either by immobilizing pre-made Au NPs on Au/KCC-1-NH2 or by grafting HAuCl4 on Au/KCC-1-NH2 followed by reduction. The size and the location of the Au NP on the support is dependent on the preparation method. Also, the activity of the Au NP over KCC-1 is proved to be size dependent.
