Abstract
Electric Vehicle technology is the booming technology in the market as we are moving towards sustainable energy solutions. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V) operations in 3 phase electric vehicle chargers. The aim of the work is to optimize the flow of energy, to reduce the peak demand, and to improve grid stability. The existing literature was used as a primary review for this study. V2G and G2V operations have advantages and disadvantages, especially in terms of energy efficiency, the overall integration of renewable energy, and improved grid stability. The paper deals with the design of the bi-directional converter used for the charging from and delivering power back to the grid during discharging mode. The designed converter is modelled and simulated using MATLAB. To encourage the broad adoption of V2G and G2V technologies, the paper also makes specific recommendations for future research on communication protocol standardization, cuttingedge cybersecurity measures, and a supportive regulatory framework.
