Abstract

14 MeV Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) is a well-established non-destructive, rapid and sensitive technique for elemental bulk analysis. The technique has found widespread applications in areas such as oil, petrochemical, metal and mining industries, as well as in medicine, agriculture, and the environmental. Results of the analysis are mainly used for quality and process control. The analytical sensitivities of 14 MeV NAA using a drift-tube type neutron generator at KFUPM have been calculated for 43 elements and the data were compared with the literature data from a sealed-tube type neutron generator.
