Abstract

Any organic coating considered for atmospheric conditions faces multi challenges such as high temperature, humidity, salinity, UV and toxic gases. Marine aerosols can further extend the challenges in coastal areas. Unfortunately, most of the commercially available coatings only target one application. But the coating faces multi environmental factors in real condition. Thus, many coatings failed earlier. Polyurethane (PU) coating is being widely used in industrial applications. In this study, few PU formulations developed considered multi factors. Few coatings showed good protection for corrosion as well as UV-shielding. Most importantly, these coatings also showed self-healing nature. These formulated coatings can be considered for industrial applications.
