Abstract
The Editor retracts “Highly Efficient Industrial Dye Degradation, Bactericidal Properties, and In Silico Molecular Docking Analysis of Ag/Cellulose-Doped CuO Nanostructures” (DOI: 10.1021/acsomega.2c00240) due to a pattern of inappropriate image reuse, irregularities in the data and analysis presented, and concerns relating to the accountability for the research. This pattern of issues across several related articles calls into question the reliability of all of the following publications, DOIs: 10.1021/acsomega.2c02790, 10.1021/acsomega.2c04650, 10.1021/acsomega.2c00583,10.1021/acsomega.1c03723, 10.1021/acsomega.2c00240, and 10.1021/acsomega.2c05625. In this article, Figure 2B was duplicated from Figure 3D of 10.1039/D1NA00648G. Figure 2C from 10.1021/acsomega.2c00240 was then duplicated in Figure 2C of 10.1039/D2RA03006C. In addition, there are irregularities in the presentation of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and kinetics data including unexplained baseline selection and unclear fits. In addition, the indexing between the images references the same spots as different planes. The original article was published on May 9, 2022 and was retracted on November 24, 2025.
