Abstract
The Editor retracts “Facile Synthesis of La- and Chitosan-Doped CaO Nanoparticles and Their Evaluation for Catalytic and Antimicrobial Potential with Molecular Docking Studies” (DOI: 10.1021/acsomega.2c02790) due to a pattern of inappropriate image reuse, irregularities in the data and analysis presented, and concerns relating to the accountability for the research. This pattern of issues across several related articles calls into question the reliability of all of the following publications, DOIs: 10.1021/acsomega.2c02790, 10.1021/acsomega.2c04650, 10.1021/acsomega.2c00583, 10.1021/acsomega.1c03723, 10.1021/acsomega.2c00240, and 10.1021/acsomega.2c05625. In Figure 6A in this article, the same image of CaO was used as Figure 5A of 10.1007/s13204−022−02576−6, but the synthesis protocol described in the methods is different. While the material may be similar, the reuse of identical experimental data without disclosure raises concerns about the integrity of the experimental protocols, curation of laboratory samples, and data management practices. When considered alongside the broader pattern, these issues undermine the credibility of the findings and warrant retraction. The original article was published on August 2, 2022 and was retracted on November 24, 2025.
