Abstract
This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier policy on Correction, Retraction and Removal (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies-and-standards/article-withdrawal). This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor. Post-publication, an investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team identified a concern around the authenticity of the following figures/image panels:-Figure 8 (right panel) from the current article and Figure 3 (right panel) from the article published in RCS Advances on which Bekir Sami Yilbas, Haider Ali, Hussain Al-Qahtani also appear as coauthors and which was available online prior to the current article having been submitted to Heliyon appear to depict the same source image, but are described as representing different experimental samples.Yilbas et al., Environmental dust removal from inclined hydrophobic glass surface: avalanche influence on dynamics of dust particles, RSC Adv., 2018,8, 33775-33785-Figure 9 from the current article and the following figures appear to depict the same source image, but are described as representing different experimental samples. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns, as well as the original unprocessed image files to aid investigation. It was felt that the explanation and data provided were unsatisfactory in resolving these concerns. The Editor has determined that the findings of the article cannot be relied upon, and has decided to retract the article. The authors disagree with retraction and dispute the grounds for it.
