Abstract
Characterization of unconventional reservoirs with complex mineralogy and high heterogeneity is crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon production. Understanding reservoir quality variations is key for effective well placement and stimulation. Seismic data aids in mapping heterogeneity, while integrated reservoir characterization helps assess elastic lithofacies, mineral composition, kerogen, and porosity variations. Knowledge of formation pressures and stresses in kerogen-rich rocks is vital for successful fracturing and production. This study presents integrated reservoir characterization results for assessing reservoir and completion quality in the Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan.
