Abstract
A comprehensive study to evaluate the performance of SiR insulators in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia was performed. Laboratory and field investigations were carried out. Test results showed negligible changes in SiR insulator properties and no electrical or mechanical failures were experienced. LCC and reliability indices (RI) demonstrated their excellent performance in the test area. It was found that the performance of SiR insulators in this area is satisfactory.
