Abstract
This chapter (encyclopedia entry) focuses on the less understood and studied phenomenon of refurbished electronics micro-entrepreneurs operating in emerging economies. Using descriptive and explanatory style of presentation, this chapter highlights the criticality of different stakeholders for such entrepreneurs. Specifically, family and friends, diaspora, and C2B (consumer to business) sellers emerge as highly valuable stakeholders in this context. Also, other service intermediaries including financial ones, and B2B (business to business) sellers are discussed. Finally, keeping in view institutional voids and governance challenges, this chapter briefly refers to the vital role of all these stakeholders in overcoming associated hurdles and barriers.
