Abstract
The reflection and transmission of a surface plasmon-polariton at a step discontinuity is studied using the method of lines. Novel features of the diffracted surface plasmon field are obtained together with mode reflectivity and transmissivity. Backward and forward radiated powers are calculated. The spatial details of the transmitted field is shown graphically.
