Abstract
Current catalytic refining challenges include the increasing trend toward processing heavier petroleum feedstocks, production of clean transportation fuels and reduction of refinery emissions. These challenges provide the motivation for the present review paper which examines the status of catalytic research activities and forecasts the requirements of next generation refining catalysts for the production of gasoline and middle distillates.
