Abstract

This paper presents a CMOS current-mode exponential circuit using CMOS technology. The design is insensitive to Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT). The circuit is based on the Tylor series approximation of the exponential function and employs MOSFET operating in saturation. CADENCE Virtuoso tools are used to simulate the proposed design functionality in 0.18μm TSMC CMOS technology. The circuit is powered by a ±1.25-volt DC source and has normalized input range of ±1. The maximum temperature error of the circuit is ±0.13 dB over a range of 100 degrees celsius. The circuit can be used in applications up to 1.25Mhz applications.
