Abstract
This review provides a survey on the recent developments in the radiation reaction in electrodynamics and its importance in understanding charged particle dynamics. Despite the long-standing interest and significant theoretical advances, challenges remain in maintaining causality and in interpreting proposed models. The review covers the historical development from classical approaches to contemporary insights, highlighting both theoretical and experimental advances. Recent experiments and theoretical developments have increasingly focused on high-intensity fields and their effects on particle dynamics, facilitated by advancements in computational and experimental techniques. Actually, having an interactive combination of experiments, precise simulation, and theoretical modeling is crucial for a better understanding of radiation reactions and charged particle dynamics.
