Project management information systems (PMIS) in Saudi Arabia: Pilot study

Abstract

Managing a project is a challenging task. It requires a lot of planning and decision making in order to successfully complete the project. Managing more than one project at a time is even more challenging and requires a lot of skills. Many project managers think that they can run more than one project easily. During the project they realize that they were not ready for this challenge and they end up losing money and clients. Nowadays, there are many productive tools for projects management that can help project managers plan their projects properly and be able to avoid the risks that they may face. One of the commonly used tools is fall under the category of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS). In this paper, we initiate a study of the importance of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) and its impact on the decision-making in various fields in the Saudi market. A survey was distributed to collect the required data, which was then analyzed using frequency analysis. Preliminary results are reported in this study.
