Abstract

In the category of memory-type control charts, progressive mean control chart was proposed recently, for monitoring the process location. Here we show, through the derivation, that the plotting statistic for the progressive mean control chart becomes a special case of exponentially weighted moving average when the sensitivity parameter becomes reciprocal of the sample number.
