Abstract
The potential of Heat Recovery Water Heating (HRWH) in the hot and humic climates of the Gulf area is demonstrated by considering the installation of such a system in a typical Saudi single family residence located Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Analysis shows that the proposep HRWH can produced about 75 percent savings in annual energy required for heating domestic water. At the same time the heat recovery process can improve the coefficient of performance of the cooling cycle as up to 30% of the condensing load is removed from the main condenser.
