Abstract

This work is aimed at elaborating the importance of polymeric material as an alternative to the existing corrosion inhibitors for a safer environment owing to their biodegradable, inexpensive, and lesser toxicity index. The ability of polymeric materials to cover a larger surface area due to their repeated unit of functional group or groups when adsorbed on the surface of the metal substrate and the ease of incorporating different functionalities by polymerization reactions makes them a unique material to be considered for the formulation of advanced corrosion inhibitors in acidic media.
