Abstract
A mathematical model describing the unsteady state of free chlorine removal from water by activated carbon was previously developed and tested by the authors. This model is used to predict the performance of packed bed activated carbon dechlorination reactors under various operating conditions. The parameters studied were influent pH, influent free chlorine concentration, particle size, contact time, and temperature.
