Abstract

Many Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) protocols show different performance under different applications. Therefore, a WSN protocol designer must be aware of the intended applications. In this paper, we study the effect of the inter arrival time between events on the performance of some WSN routing protocols. We observe that the investigated protocols show different performance under different applications. We compare the performance of the investigated protocols in terms of delay, network lifetime, throughput and percentage of detected events.
