Abstract

Multilevel inverter topology has been investigated in this chapter. The investigated inverter called as packed E-Cell has the capability of generating nine levels at reduced switch counts with low total harmonic distortion (THD). In addition to that, the comparative analysis of the THD levels in the output voltage and current obtained by applying different modulation techniques are also presented. Sine, triangular and half parabolic carriers have been used for analysis. The simulation is done in MATLAB and Simulink and the results obtained for THD in the output voltage and current are presented and discussed in the chapter.
