Abstract

ZIF-8-supported Pd nanoparticles (PdNPs) have been synthesized as a heterogeneous catalyst (PdNPs@ZIF-8) for the Mizoriki-Heck C−C bond formation reaction. The hexagonal ZIF-8 microcrystals were converted to rod- and flower-shaped PdNPs@ZIF-8 with the controlled addition of formic acid. PdNPs@ZIF-8 was applied to catalyze the coupling of arylhalides with substituted styrenes, achieving excellent conversion with very high selectivity.
