Abstract
A personal computer compatible optical data acquisition unit is described. The unit hardware architecture consists of optical analog sensors, optical digital sensors, and standard digital-to-analog converters. It can be accessed and programmed using a variety of programming languages. The unit has several applications in color sorting, data communication, aerospace guidance, and remote optical sensing.
