Abstract
A planar, compact reconfigurable magnetic metamaterial-based patch antenna that is suitable for emerging communication systems is proposed. The dielectric-ferrite substrate with optimally integrated split ring resonators (SRR's) coupled the antenna resonance with the gyro-magnetic properties of the magnetic metamaterial. This interaction has introduced a beam scanning property of 25o in the E-plan of for an AHdc = 0.06T of the antenna.
