Abstract
Simultaneous process scheduling and heat integration is introduced and applied on an FCC process. This approach includes design modifications, heat integration, and anticipated schedules. The approach determines the optimal production while considering heat integration of the process. Tradeoff between the competing objectives has been established in this approach. The merits of including scheduling of production effects in the design phase of heat exchanger network in the oil refining industry is highlighted. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 7th European Congress of Chemical Engineering 7 and the 19th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering CHISA (Prague, Czech Republic 8/28/2010-9/1/2010).
