Optical architectures modeling: A new methodology

Abstract

In this paper, we devise a methodology for optical component modeling. We present the general description of single-port and multi-port optical components. Then we use signal flow graphs to analyze optical architectures prior to the implementation phase. It illustrates the behavior of the optical data signal at the output of the optical system.
