Abstract

The performance of a steerable beam adaptive array is affected by a number of factors including the signal to noise ratio of the desired input, other undesired sig-nals, the number and spacing between sensor elements, the feedback loop gain of the array, and the reliability of prior knowledge on the direction of the desired signal. This paper provides a detailed derivation and a compre-hensive discussion on the effect of such factors on the overall performance of steerable adaptive arrays.
