Abstract

A numerical method based on the finite difference method and an extended cubic B-spline (ECB) is generated to handle the Fractional differential equation (FCE). Extended cubic B-spline is used to discretize the space derivatives with the Grünwald-Letnikov formulation for the Riemann-Liouville derivative. The stability analysis of the proposed method has also been analyzed. Numerical example support the theoretical results and show that the proposed scheme is simple and accurate.
