Abstract
Let (Formula presented.) be a unital prime *-algebra (over the complex field (Formula presented.)) with a nontrivial projection. For any (Formula presented.) define (Formula presented.) and (Formula presented.) for all integers (Formula presented.) In this article, it is shown that if a map (Formula presented.) (not necessarily linear) satisfies (Formula presented.) for all (Formula presented.) with (Formula presented.) then ξ is an additive *-derivation. Finally, this result is applied to standard operator algebras and factor von Neumann algebras.
