New record of Owstonia kamoharai Endo, Liao and Matsuura, 2015 (Perciformes: Cepolidae) from the Northeastern Indian Ocean

Abstract

Owstonia kamoharai Endo, Liao and Matsuura, 2015 is reported for the first time from the northeastern Indian Ocean. Two specimens measuring 320 mm and 250 mm (Standard Length) were collected during the exploratory fishery surveys by Fishery Oceanographic Research Vessel Sagar Sampada in Andaman and Nicobar waters, India during April 2016 at a depth of 411 m. A brief description of the specimens collected, comparisons and previous distributional records were provided.
