Abstract

Natural fibers are a major renewable resource material throughout the world specifically in the tropics. However, full commercial potential of these fibers has not been achieved due to lack of research and development of high technology applications. This paper describes commercially important vegetable fibers save cotton, their composition and properties, fiber processing, applications and areas where research is needed.
